Federal Legislation Supporting Acupuncture

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

Glad you're interested in acupuncture. If you'd like to schedule a visit, please call the office at 414-545-6690. Thanks for visiting!

Exciting news for those who support acupuncture: There is currently legislation in train in Congress to modify both the Medicare and the Federal Employees Health Benefits program to allow for reimbursement of services provided by qualified acupuncturists. It was referred to House Committees on Energy and Commerce, Ways and Means, and Government Oversight on 1/22/2009 for consideration. It is important that acupuncture supporters weigh in with their Congressional representatives to let them know how important this legislation is.

That’s one of the difficulties in trying to research something like acupuncture; it is nearly impossible to have a placebo group as part of the study. (more…)

There seems to be a change in the weather in terms of health care. President Obama announced a commitment to health reform with budgetary support the night before the summit.” (more…)
